Daniel "Dan" Kasprowicz '61 February 28, 2020 12:23 PM updated: February 28, 2020 1:34 PM

Daniel E. Kasprowicz, age 80, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at his home in Fair Oaks Ranch with his family by his side. He was born October 8, 1939 to Valeria and Frank Kasprowicz in San Antonio, Texas. He grew up in Brenham, Texas and graduated high school in 1957. From there he went on to study at Blinn and then graduated from Texas A&M University in 1961 with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

After this, Dan served in the United States Air Force for five years and retired as Captain. He went on to work for Southwestern Bell Corporation for over 25 years. During his time working at Kelly AFB he met his wife Beverly and they married in June of 1964 and began a loving family together. They were married for 55 years. Dan served his community of Fair Oaks Ranch as Mayor for three years. As a parishioner at St. Francis for 25 years he gave his time as a member of many different ministries, including those which helped the adults, married couples and teenagers of the parish. ACTS, Beyond Cana, RCIA, Habitat for Humanity and the Teen Mission Trip are just a few of the ministries that Dan felt it important that he be a part of. By the joy that he experienced through spending time with young people, it is seen that he deeply treasured in particular the time he was able to minister to them. Although Dan's life was filled with vast opportunities of service, to him it was never about the job but about the people and glorifying our God.

He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Valeria and brother Robert Kasprowicz. Dan is survived by his wife Beverly Kasprowicz; sons Danny Jr. (Laura), Mark (Julie), and Tim (Michelle); grandchildren Courtney, Evan (Bethany), Erin, and Keegan; great grandchild Kolbe; and seven siblings, Esther (Webster); Charles (Denise), Tom (Patsy), Liz (Clyde), Agnes (David), Margaret, and Cindy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
