Memorial services for Ewart “Kit” (Doc) Gladstone Carney, Jr., age 90 of Bonham, TX have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home, Bonham, TX.

Bonham- Ewart (Kit) (Doc) Gladstone Carney, Jr., age 90, of Hendrix, OK passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Clyde Cosper State Veterans Home in Bonham, TX. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home, Bonham, TX.

Ewart (Kit) Gladstone Carney, Jr. was born in Newark, OH on November 13, 1924 to Ewart Gladstone and Mary (Gieger) Carney, Sr. Kit served from 1942 thru 1945 with the Marine Corp. in pacific Theatre in WWII; he served honorably and with distinction; he was awarded 3 purple hearts during this service. He was self-employed veterinarian for 30 + years and owner operator of Bonham Veterinarian Clinic. Kit married Roxie (Hague) Carney in 2003 in Bonham, TX; and is of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by wife Roxie Carney of the home; children, Kathleen Martin and husband Michael; Phyllis Hardy and husband Duane; Jim Monk and wife Sandy; Dorothy Moyer and husband Steve; Celia Decker and husband Doug; 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Polly Luther and Barbara Phillips. He was preceded in death by his first wife Alice Carney in 2001; brother, Frank and sister, Mary.
