Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas.


Obituary:
Dwight Wood, Jr. of De Kalb, Texas, passed away Friday, February 5, 2016, at a Texarkana, Texas hospital. He was 54.

D.J. was born May 8, 1961, in Texarkana, Texas to Dwight W., Sr. and Billie Waters Wood. He was a former Accountant in Medical Records at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas and was a Funeral Director, having graduated from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. D.J. served on the De Kalb Oktoberfest Committee and was the Oktoberfest Parade MC. He was a De Kalb ISD School Board Member, a member of the Bowie County Singing Convention and a member of First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dwight W. Wood, Sr.; and a sister, Connie Lynn Wood.

He is survived by his former wife, Sandra May Wood of De Kalb, Texas; his mother, Billie Waters Wood of De Kalb, Texas; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lauren Louise Wood of De Kalb, Texas and Shannon and Jeff Wright of Texarkana, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Angela Thomson of Redwater, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Alyce Kathryn and Dan Stewart of Lucas, Texas; a brother, John Hal Wood of Fort Worth, Texas and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas with Rev. Tom Edwards, Joni Haldeman and Charlie Haldeman officiating. Interment will follow at Woodmen Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas.
