Thomas Gayle Mabray
JULY 18, 1931 – JANUARY 7, 2020

Thomas G. Mabray went to be with the Lord on January 7th, 2020. Born on July 18, 1931 in Waco, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Tom C. and Jean Mabray and sister Shirley Abel.
He graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS Degree in Industrial Engineering, where he served as a member of The Ross Volunteers and as a Senior Class Officer for his class of 1952. After receiving his commission from Texas A&M, Mr. Mabray was ordered to Korea and served as a Platoon Leader in the 40th and 25th Infantry Divisions until his Honorable Discharge as a 1st Lieutenant.

Upon his return to Texas, he entered the Commercial Real Estate business in Houston, specializing in Industrial Real Estate, and was subsequently elected to the positon of Chairman for The Houston Association of Realtors. Although Tom was a Certified Scuba Diver, his real passion was flying and he held Multi-Engine and Instrument Ratings. He also loved the outdoors, including the water and hiking and steaks on the grill. His spiritual home was Second Baptist Church, Houston Tx. where he attended regularly.

Tom is survived by his sons Mark, Mel and Matt, daughter Dawn, brothers Don and Gary Mabray, daughters-in-law Elaine and Jennifer and sister-in-law Barbara. His grandchildren include Jackson, Daniel and Grace Mabray.

A celebration of Thomas's life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Kingsland Baptist Church, 20555 Kingsland Blvd., Katy, TX.

Private interment for the family will be at Houston National Cemetery 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr .

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed to The Salvation Army, 1500 Austin St. Houston, Tx. 77002.
