Mark Wayne Sumi, 53, of Stewartsville, NJ passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ .
Mark was born in Buffalo, NY on December 23, 1966 to Wayne and Maureen Oldenberg Sumi of McCormick, SC.
Mark was in sales with Winston Staffing in New York, NY. He was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of 1989. Mark enjoyed traveling with his wife, golfing, riding his motorcycle, hiking, watching sports, including Texas A&M football and fishing.
Mark was a faithful member of Calvary Community Church in Harmony Township, NJ, where he served as a deacon.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Susan Murphy Sumi; parents Wayne and Maureen Sumi of McCormick, SC; brothers Michael Sumi and his wife, Sue of Somerville, NJ and Derek Sumi and his wife, Liz of Boynton Beach, FL; sister-in-law, Thomasina Palmer and her husband Dave of Annandale, NJ; brothers-in-law, James Murphy and his wife, Michelle of Nazareth, PA and Robert Murphy and his wife, Kristin of North Smithfield, RI; and mother in-law Stefania Murphy of Easton, PA; beloved nieces and nephews include Chelsea and Ashley Sumi, Ashley and Jake Palmer, Connor and Ryan Murphy and Matthew and Kylie Murphy. Mark was predeceased by his father in law, Thomas Murphy.
A Funeral Service for Mark will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 3pm at Calvary Community Church; 4 Church Road; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. A Visitation for Family and Friends will be held from 2pm until service time at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in Mark’s name to Calvary Community Church
