WILLIAM CHARLES "BILL" BRENDING
August 29, 1946 - December 27, 2019

William Charles Brending (Bill) went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 27, 2019 at the age of 73. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda; two children, John Brending of Houston, and Deborah Baume of Fulshear; five grandchildren, Trevor, Taylor, Tessa, Trinity Baume, and Besa Brending; and two sisters, Shirley Kochmit of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Judy Kingman of Dallas.

Bill was born in Bryan, Texas on August 29, 1946, the second oldest of five children. He attended A & M University in College Station and was a member of the Army Corp of Cadets. He graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in Business/Accounting and received his CPA certification in 1970. Bill’s career started and ended with Brown & Root and spanned a time period of 36 years. During that time, he held many job titles including timekeeper, accountant, auditor, administrative manager, and contract & proposal manager.

Bill and Linda married in May of 1970 and resided in Baytown for 42 years. Faith was important to Bill and he was very active in his church where he served as treasurer, G A leader, Bible Study teacher, and deacon. He also participated in various outreach ministries as Evangelism Explosion and Gideons. They relocated to Katy in 2013 and joined Second Baptist Church, where they became a part of a wonderfully, warm fellowship and where Bill served as a Deacon.

His hobbies included, golf, duplicate bridge, reading, travel, spending time with family. Bill will be remembered as a kind, soft-spoken man who loved God, family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway Chapel, in Katy, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Charles Wisdom officiating. A reception will follow in the reception suite.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial gifts may do so to the charity of your choice.
