January 24, 1951 - November 28, 2019

Steven Dale Snyder, 68, passed away Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2019, at his home in Houston, Texas.

Steve was born in Harris County, Houston, Texas, January 24, 1951, and was adopted by his parents, Robert H. Snyder and Barbara E. Dunham Snyder. He was a devoted son and brother as well as a true son of Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University at College Station, Texas, May 4, 1973. Steve’s professional life was in the mechanical division of several major companies as a Mechanical Specialist focusing on the oil and gas processing industry and was involved in world travel in that business.

He also loved the great outdoors, was an avid hunter, camper, and conservationist. Additionally, Steve loved car racing and was the SCCA National Champion for his class in 2008. He was also involved in the cook-offs at the Houston Fat Stock Show and Rodeo for many years. He had any friends and his steadfast friendship to all will always be remembered.

His world was shared with his sister and brother, two nephews, four nieces, cousins, friends and relatives. Wanting to understand his origin, Steve searched for and found his biological mother, Barbara Boutte. He developed a close and understanding relationship with Barbara for many years

Steve was dedicated and very close to his adopted father, mother and grandmother who were the source of his sense of humor and generosity. He was also in the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert H. Snyder, Barbara E. Snyder and birthmother, Barbara Boutte, grandparents Dan S. and Inez Dunham and H.J. and Fannie Snyder. He is survived by his sister Cathryn Van Wormer and her husband Ross of Bellville, Texas, and brother Ronald Snyder and his wife Cheryl of Burley, Idaho. Nephews and nieces: Chris Schneider, Samantha Ray, Sara Jaramillo, Ross Snyder, Alexandria Snyder, Logan Martin. His Childhood friend Pete Paul of 63 years plus many other relatives and friends.
