William Phil Schultz
Birth Date: July 22, 1924 Death Date: November 21, 2019
William Phil Schultz of Richardson, Texas passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the age of 95.
William Phil Schultz was born on July 22, 1924 in Abilene,Texas to his parents: Philip and Ethnye (Wilson) Schultz. He received Eagle Scout with 3 Palms in 1938 and graduated from Abilene High School in 1941 as Salutatorian. After High School, William attended McMurry University, Texas A&M University and graduated from Rice University with a BS in Chemical Engineering in 1947. He joined the US Naval Reserve in 1943, commissioned as an officer in 1945 and was mustered from the Navy in 1946. He married Catherine Davis on August 20, 1950 in Haskell, Texas. William worked as a Petroleum Engineer for Humble Oil and Refining Company and Core Laboritories from 1947-1985. He was a member of the Association of Petroleum Engineers and Wild Fowl Club and he was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church of Richardson. William enjoyed Geology and Geneology, coin and stamp collecting and arrowhead hunting but, he especially loved being with his family. He was faithful, selfless, generous, loving leader and a storyteller at heart.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Davis Schultz of Richardson, TX; son, Phil Tom Schultz and wife, Pamela Sue Schultz of College Station, TX; grandchildren: Justin Davis Schultz and wife, Sandra Marie Schultz of McKinney, TX and Jessica Christine Hutto-Schultz and partner, Ashley Hutto-Schultz of Alexandria, VA; great grandchildren: Michael, Matthew and Kyle schultz and many other loving family members and friends.
A service for William Phil Schultz will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 3:00 pm in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. The family of William Phil Schultz will receive guests one hour prior to service from 2:00-3:00 pm. Restland is located at 13005 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75243 and can be reached at 972-238-7111.
