Roy Lee Pete Angermiller
October 06, 1937 - November 27, 2019
Roy Lee “Pete” Angermiller of Hondo passed away at his home Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019. He was 82.
Born Oct. 6, 1937, in Hondo, he was the son of Emmett Lee and Eselda Bee “Sally” Rankin Angermiller.
Pete graduated Hondo High School and earned a bachelor of Science -Agriculture degree at Texas A&M where he served as captain in the Corps of Cadets. He served in the U. S. Air Force and, while stationed at Bentwaters Air Base in England, he met his future wife, Therese Mary “Terry” Ryan. They were married Dec. 18, 1965, at First United Methodist Church in Hondo. Together they designed and built a home near his parents, on the farm where he enjoyed raising his gentle cattle and goats. He also enjoyed football, playing cards with friends and spending time with his family, especially with his granddaughter, “the light of his life”. Pete taught at D’Hanis ISD for 28 years as a science teacher and coach.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Terry, who died Nov. 13; and sisters, Virginia Magiotta and June Tarrodaychik.
He is survived by his son, Ryan Angermiller; daughter, Sally Paige Angermiller; and granddaughter, Chloé Angermiller, all of Hondo; sister, Mary Howard of Devine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation at Guinn-Horger Chapel will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Graveside service will be at 2 p..m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 7400 Louis Pasteur, Suite 200, San Antonio TX 78229.
