LEOPOLD (LEO) CHAVEZ

Leopold Leo Chavez was born on July 2, 1964, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1997, and was a member of the Pipeliners Association. Leo has lived in Houston for the past 15 years. Leo passed away in a Katy hospital on Monday, February 4, 2013, at the age of 48 years. He is survived by his wife, Deirdre Chavez of Houston; son, Alec Chavez of Houston; daughter, Addison Chavez of Houston; brother, Daniel Chavez and his wife Liz of Arlington, Texas, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lila and Joe Glenn of Mansfield, Texas; sister-in-law, Dawn Rosson and her husband Mark of Mansfield, Texas; as well as nieces and nephews, Amanda, Anetia, Nicki, Stephanie, Jeff, Camryn, Noah, Baylee, and Rexton. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Dennis Chavez. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013, at the Grand Lakes Presbyterian Church, in Katy, with Rev. Dean Pogue officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for memorial donations to be made to the Scholarship Fund for his children, which will be set up at a later date.
