JUNE 27, 1966 – OCTOBER 27, 2019

Samuel Zahar (Sam), 53, of Austin, Texas owner of Black Diamond Audio Visual died Sunday October 27, 2019 as a result of an auto accident. Sam was born June 27, 1966 in Port Arthur, Texas to Jane Stuart Watson and George Zahar (deceased). Growing up Sam lived in Texas, California, Arizona and Indonesia and in the fourth grade, Sam and his family moved to Kountze, Texas where he graduated from high school. Sam attended Texas A&M and graduated with an lndustrial Distribution degree in 1989. After graduation from college Sam moved to Dallas, Texas where he worked for various tech companies. Sam has lived in Austin, Texas for the past 21 years where he owned and operated Black Diamond Audio and Visual.

Sam was a loyal Aggie and was a member of the Century Club. He also enjoyed spending time with his two nephews and niece from Dallas. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. Sam was known by his friends as “Sam can help you”, “Sam will be there”, “Sam is amazing at that”. Well that was Sam. Sam had the best heart. He was known as the most reliable, the most comforting and the most stable person and was loved by his family and many friends.

Sam is survived by his mother Jane Stuart Watson, stepfather William Watson, brother George Zahar and wife Ann, sister Margaret Walsh and husband Mark of Dallas, Texas and brother Keith Zahar of Crystal Beach, Texas. Sam is also survived by niece Isabel Walsh, and nephew Alexander Walsh and nephew Andrew Zahar as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Sam is survived by many loving friends.

A memorial service in Sam’s honor will be held Saturday November 9th at 2:00 pm at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, Lake Travis.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation or your favorite charity.
