With profound sadness we announce the passing of Andrew Logan Need, 63. He passed away suddenly following a long battle with a multitude of health complications.
He was born on September 3rd, 1956 in Orange, Texas. He spent 33 years with his life partner and best friend, Mr. Timothy Osborn, and they enjoyed those years as foodies while traveling, collecting art and sharing their lives together.
He was inspired to study architecture when he moved to Japan at age 3 where his family stayed for a time at the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. He said he will always remember the beauty of the ceiling and columns. This childhood experience carried into later years leading to a Masters of Architecture from Texas A&M University. Following graduation Logan worked for several commercial design firms, culminating with ten years of service at the Centers for Disease Control as a gifted interior designer for several Health and Human Service properties.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Harry and Sandy Need, nephew Logan Need, his beloved Pembroke Corgis, Fergie, Thatcher, Hoss and Bandit. He has left behind his lifelong love Tim, his sweet pup Teddy, his brothers and their wives, Harry and Merrie Need (Colorado) and James and Sharon Need (North Carolina) as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews who will always remember him as supportive, kind, willing to offer advice as much as he was willing to listen to circumstance, and always offered unconditional love and support.
He was adored by all those who had the privilege to know him; he was sharp minded and sassy as well as kind, loving and supportive to everyone he knew and loved. Nothing made Logan happier than a good meal with a superb glass of wine accompanying it, except for maybe a dog commercial from Subaru. Logan was a man of many experiences and much love, and his friendship and companionship were a gift that enriched the many people in his life.
