Sandra Opersteny
MARCH 27, 1965 – OCTOBER 22, 2019

Sandra Margaret Opersteny, 54, of Marlin passed away Tuesday, October 22 at Providence Hospital in Waco.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 28 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to service time. Sandra will be laid to rest at 2:30 p.m. in Taylor Chapel Cemetery near Marlin.

Sandra was born March 27, 1965 in Houston the daughter of Charles and Regina (Stetz) Opersteny. She received bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and her master’s in counseling at Texas Tech University and was a licensed physical therapist. Sandra spent the majority of her professional career at Mexia State School. After her retirement she enjoyed doing charity work at the Samaritan House in Marlin. Sandra loved living on her small ranch in Marlin, she had horses, pigs, dog and chickens. Each week she would donate eggs laid by her chickens to the local food pantry. Sandra was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marlin.

She is survived by her parents, Charles and Regina Opersteny; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Kathy Opersteny, Michael and Martha Opersteny, John and Gretchen Opersteny; nieces and nephews, Jessica Miller and husband Nate, Esther Opersteny, Jared Opersteny and wife Pam, Sam Opersteny, Joey Opersteny; great-niece and nephews, Caden Miller, Julian and Greta Opersteny; uncle and aunt, Alvin and Marie Stetz; aunt, Betty Stetz; friend, Ted Wilganoski; and numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Samaritan House, 154 Live Oak Street, Marlin, Texas 76661.
