Melvin Davis
DECEMBER 24, 1952 – SEPTEMBER 26, 2019
Melvin Davis, age 66, of Kingwood, Texas passed away on Thursday September 26, 2019. Melvin was born December 24, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas to Aurora C. and Melvin K. Davis.
Melvin lived a very full and loving life. After graduating from high school, Melvin continued his education and began his college career at St Mary's University, where he received his B.S. in Chemistry in 1975. He then went on to receive his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1981 and finished with his MS in Chemical Engineering from Lamar University in 1986.
He began his long career as a Chemical Engineer with Arco Chemical company in 1989. His career took him many places and to many companies. After being with Arco, he went on to Champion Technologies as a Corporate EHS and PSM manager in 1995. From there he took a position as Direction of HS & PSM at Coffeyville Resources. He finished his career at Texas Petrochemical (TPC) under contract through Mustang Engineering until 2013 when he retired.
His true love was his family. He enjoyed nothing more than time with Cathy and the girls. Both Kimberley and Stacey kept him quite busy with all of their sporting events. He tried to be at all of them. They are his pride and joy.
Serving as pallbearers are Matthew Davis, Mark K. Davis, Michael K. Davis, Jr., Johnny Gonzales, Trey Hibbert and Jerome Koch.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Cathy J. Davis; daughter Kimberley Erin Davis; and daughter Stacey Nicole Davis; brother Marvin K. Davis, brother Mark K. Davis, sister Melissa K. Davis and brother Michael K. Davis; granddaughter Gaby Gonzales and grandson Tristan Davis. As well as nieces, nephews and many more family and friends.
Melvin was preceded in death by; mother Aurora Davis and father Melvin K Davis.
