Chester Calvin Critchfield
Monday, April 18th, 1927 - Thursday, September 26th, 2019
A private family service for Chester C. Critchfield, 92, formerly of Salado, is scheduled for a later date. Mr. Critchfield died on Thursday, September 26, 2019 under the care of VA Hospice in Temple. He was born April 18, 1927 in Gause, Texas to Bernice and Chester H. Critchfield. He graduated from Temple High School in 1944. He entered the Navy and served until 1946. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1950 with a degree in Wildlife Biology. He married Betty LeFan in March 1951. He retired after teaching science more than 20 years at Belton High School. Survivors include his wife, Betty, of Jarrell, his sister, Rosemarie Critchfield, of Miami, Florida, his son Grant and his wife Sharon of Temple, his son Steve of Georgetown, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Lynn Calvert and a grandchild, Sarah Critchfield. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
