Gary Eugene Conklin, of League City, Texas passed away on February 11, 2018. He was born to Clayton and Beverly Conklin on February 9, 1956, in Denton, Texas. He shared a wonderful life with Holly Conklin for 20 years raising two children, Camryn and Clayton. Gary loved many things fishing on his boat, cooking food for friends and family, watching A&M football, but above all else, he loved his family. In his own words, they were the light of his life. His love for his children and wife was endless, and he proved that every day with his kind smile and big heart. Gary had many great moments in his life, but some of the happiest were when he lived in Germany working for his beloved company Bayer/Covestro (1995-2018). Gary's generosity was like no other; he opened up his home to friends and family. He was often involved in many community volunteering events, devoting his time to the Ronald McDonald House of Charities. Gary played football for A&M graduating with a masters in mechanical engineering and then continued his passion for A&M onto his family; seeing his daughter get accepted into the engineering program at A&M. Gary loved watching his kids at swim meets; in his last meet, he attended he was fortunate enough to see his son, a freshman, qualify for the state high school championships. He was a unique man who had a big heart and a larger than life personality; he never met a stranger. He was a strong role model for his son and daughter and a loving husband to Holly. He was loved and will be greatly missed by many!
