Chester Jay Fields
February 18, 1956 - September 28, 2019
Chester Jay Fields (aka CJay and Bear) passed away on September 28, 2019, after a heroic battle against cancer. Chester was born in Tucson, Arizona, at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base Hospital on February 18, 1956. He was the fourth son of Pam and Jack Fields,
and his father was a bomber pilot in the Regular Air Force.
Chester will be remembered by his surviving brothers and sister-in-law Dennis and Dorothy Fields. Bo and Leslie Fields, and Jim Fields; his nephews and nieces Jay and Kristen Fields, Laura Fields, Dan and Susan Fields, Waylon and Stephanie Fields, and Jackie
and Will Peirce; and great nephews and niece Kyle, Carter, Robin, Charlie, and Grace; his cousins; and by his many friends. Chester was preceded in death by his beloved wife Kathy, and by his parents.
Among his passions were being outdoors, hiking, listening to music of every variety, taking care of his many dog and cat “buddies”, and staying in close touch with many of his school friends. Chester graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science
in Agronomy in 1980.
The Fields family sincerely thanks Chester’s “angel” Amy, and all of the staff at Amazing Grace Hospice for their love, compassion, and constant support during the last four months.
A Memorial Service to celebrate his life and his passing into the hands of the LORD will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the Simonton Community Church, 9703 FM 1489, Simonton, TX, 77476.
