Travis Toland
Birth Date: January 9, 1929 Death Date: September 26, 2019

Travis was 90 years old, he was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and Petroleum Engineer. He was born in Breckenridge, Texas January 9, 1929 to Hugh Dolph and Fannie Della Ledbetter Toland. Travis was the youngest of 4 boys.

Travis started and graduated from school in Breckenridge, Texas. In high school he entered the National Guard and earned a pilot license. His life long hobbies were photography and woodworking. Upon graduation he entered Texas A&M College. He graduated from college in 1951 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. After graduation he went to Fort Sill, Oklahoma where he met Wanda Hastings. Travis served in the Korean War, when he was discharged as a 1st Lieutenant. He headed back to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, then he and Wanda eloped in College Station, marrying June 3, 1954.

During the summers he worked for Sun Oil Company in Snyder, Texas. He joined the company after his discharge from the Army. He and his family started his career in Delhi, Louisiana, with stints in Rockport, Victoria, Colorado City, Midland, Texas, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Houston, and Dallas. He retired in 1987 after 35 years with Sun Oil Company.

Travis was a member of Toastmasters, API, Registered Professional Engineers, AAPG, and AIME. He was instrumental in organizing Breckenridge Buckaroos High School reunions and traveling Class of 1947. He stayed current with all the work, business, investments, and politics.

Travis is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Hugh Dolph, Jr., Dalton, Tommy, and nephew, Travis.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, daughters, Sandra Bizzell (Don), Jo Ann Sachtleben (Glen), grandchildren, Jerry Paul Deramus (Sarah), Whitney Willis (Austin), and great grandchildren, Coletrane, Archer, and Beck.

The family would like to recognize and thank special life long friends that visited him regularly, Marvin and Gerald, and Brookdale-Creekside for his care.

Funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 12:30 in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
