Billy "Bill" Van Sickle '60 September 13, 2019 9:01 AM updated: October 23, 2019 9:17 AM

Published in a Chicago (IL) Tribune Media Group Publication on Sept. 13, 2019

Billy W. VanSickle

Billy W. VanSickle, of Lincolnwood. Loving husband of Teresa Such. Adoring father of Sarah (Matthew) Tipperreiter. Loving brother of Shirley (Bob) Dorat. Son of the late Juanita and Oscar VanSickle. Brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many.  Billy was a part of the first RCIA group at Queen of All Saints, receiving the Catholic sacraments at the Easter vigil, and so honored later to become a Eucharistic Minister. He served as the director of sales administration for Jovan, Inc. for many years. Proud retired Navy commander, serving two tours in Vietnam and receiving the Bronze Star with Combat V device. He loved to travel the world, read extensively, and listen to music, from country to classical. Billy's Texas roots were clear each time he spoke, as he maintained a southern drawl even 50+ years after moving north. He will forever be our "Yellow Rose of Texas."
