Mrs. Catherine Elizabeth (Broyles) Nance ‘99 passed away at home in Houston, TX on October 26, 2017.
Catherine was born June 9, 1977 in London, England. She earned a degree in Applied Mathematics from Texas A&M University, Class of 1999, and a Master’s in Educationsl Psychology from the University of Houston. She worked as a high school math teacher in Klein ISD and an adjunct professor at Lone Star Colkege in Tomball. She was well-respected for her gun safety awareness campaigns through Moms Demand Action, lobbying for her children’s safety even while fighting a battle with colorectal cancer. She is survived by her husband, Scott Nance, and her two children Amelie and Owen.
