Jerry Vedder Allen
JULY 4, 1942 ~ JULY 28, 2019 (AGE 77)

Jerry Vedder Allen went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2019, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital in Uvalde, Texas. He was surrounded by the family he dearly loved.

Jerry was born on July 4, 1942, in Mason, Texas, to Terrell and Velma Allen. He grew up on the family ranch with his sister, Judy, until the family moved to Slaton, Texas. While in Slaton, he met his wife, Vicki.

Jerry then attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a Master’s degree in Range Management. Jerry was employed by Frost Bank in San Antonio for 20+ years as Vice President of the Trust Department. After leaving the bank, he turned over 150,000 acres of South and West Texas brush land into highly productive cattle and hunting ranches. Jerry practiced many new and innovative ideas that are still used by ranchers today.

As much as he loved his work, his real passion was his family and supporting their many endeavors. He shared his love for agriculture with his children and later, with his

grandchildren. He loved the stockshow circuit and built a club calf business of his own.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Judy Harper. He is survived by his wife Vicki, son Bret Allen (Nadalee), daughters Jana Gardenhire (Tal) and Staci Allen (Julie Duos); ten grandchildren- Bailee Hendry (Scott), Summer Allen, Korlee Allen, Tucker Allen, Chase Gardenhire (Amber), Paige Gardenhire, Kalli Gardenhire, Will Gardenhire, Ty Allen Duos, and Remy Allen Duos; two great-grandchildren-Kaelynn and Rylee Hendry.

A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at 11:00am at First Baptist Church, Uvalde.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Uvalde Hospice Foundation; Dream Walkers Equine Therapy Center, Uvalde; or First Baptist Church, Uvalde.
