William Stanton Barlow
August 5, 1966 - November 9, 2018
William Stanton (Stan) Barlow, age 52, passed away from liver disease Friday, November 9, 2018, at Peterson Regional Hospital, in Kerrville, Texas.
Stan was born August 5, 1966, in San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of William (Bill) Reed Barlow and Patricia (Patty) Louise Fertsch Barlow
Scheirman.
He attended Tivy High School where he played football, baseball, tennis, golf and was in the drama club. Stan graduated Tivy in 1984 and earned a
Bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University in May 1990, and a Master’s of Education from Houston Baptist University in August 1994. Stan
taught at the Parish school for 10 years and in 1998 he received an award from Laura Bush for West Houston’s Teacher of the Year. Stan went on to
pursue a career in web design, but teaching was truly his passion.
His greatest accomplishment in his life is his daughter, Whitney, his heart, pride and joy. He was and will always be greatly loved by countless family and friends.
Stan is survived by his wife, Carolyn Cubit Barlow; his daughter, Whitney Elaine Barlow; his father, Bill Barlow; his sister, Sally Barlow James; his stepsisters, Kim Beal and Kelli Zahn, and stepbrothers Russ, Randy and Gerry Scheirman.
Stan was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia (Patty) Barlow Scheirman; his stepfather, Charles (Charlie) Scheirman; his stepmother, Karen Barclay Barlow.
