JULY 31, 1949 ~ MAY 28, 2019 (AGE 69)

Jimmie Lee Bell, 69, of Happy, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Happy Cemetery with Johnny Saunders, officiating.

Jimmie Lee Bell was born to J.L. Jr. and Betty Bell on July 31, 1949 in McAllen, Texas.

Jim graduated from Weslaco High School in Weslaco, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science.

Jim worked in agriculture his whole life, but his passion was in the cattle industry.

He grew up working as a farmer on Bell Brothers Farms in Weslaco, TX. He rode bulls and calf roped in high school. He was the ranch manager of Gholson Ranches. He helped start Range Bull Exchange marketing bulls to Mexico improving the quality of cattle in northern Mexico.

Jim ventured to Belize with his long-time friend, Randy Guy looking to purchase Ranch Land.

Jim married the love of his life, Paula Parker, on December 23, 1997.

In 2012, Jim moved to Happy to be near his son. He helped his son with Freddie Street Saddle Shop which later morphed into Freddie Street Welding where Jim continued to help until his passing.

He loved spending time with his family and friends, telling stories, and playing games. He loved to read any type of book and tinkering in his shop.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Bell, father, J.L. Bell, Jr. and mother, Betty Bell.

Survivors include his son, Jay Bell and wife Samantha of Happy, TX; step-daughter, Courtney Kalinoski and husband Jeff of San Antonio, TX; sister, Vicki Sheridan and husband Gary of Italy, TX; grandchildren include, Rankin Bell of Happy, TX, LynDe Hutson and husband Kade of Happy, TX, Lane Collins of Leavenworth, KS, and Gavin Kalinoski of San Antonio, TX; niece, Hilary Silvers and husband Tommy; nephew, Cody Sheridan; great nephew and niece Colton and Sheridan Silvers; and several close friends.
