Doctor James Walmsley
OCTOBER 19, 1933 – DECEMBER 25, 2018

Doctor James Albert Walmsley passed away at St James House in Baytown Texas on December 25, 2018. Jim was born October 19th 1933 in Baytown to George and Mildred Walmsley who were from New Bedford, Massachusetts. He had three older brothers; Jack, George & Tom.

His parents had moved to Baytown in 1930 when his father went to work for Humble Oil Company. Jim went to school in Baytown until his father was transferred to Union New Jersey. His father passed away unexpectedly and then he and his mother moved back to Baytown. Jim played football and ran track all three years at Robert E. Lee High School.

After graduating from Robert E Lee, he studied veterinary medicine at Texas A&M University for two years and then decided to pursue a medical career and was later accepted into the University of Texas Medical Branch.

After graduating from UTMB in 1959, he moved his family to Ft. Worth for his internship at St Joseph Hospital and subsequently began his medical practice in the Air Force at Clinton Sherman Air Force Base, Oklahoma as a Captain in the US Air Force.

Upon leaving the Air Force, he moved his family back to Baytown, to set up his medical practice at Gulf Coast Hospital with his brother George. He practiced many years in Baytown and then moved his practice to Highlands.

He was predeceased by his wife Jan, daughter Jamie Lynn, his parents, and brothers Jack, George and Tom. His survivors are his sons; Jim Walmsley and Stephen Walmsley with his sons and families; Christopher Walmsley and his wife Tabitha, their daughters; Honey, Heaven, and Hope and Chance Walmsley and his fiancé Kendall Frazier.

Visitation will be at Trinity Episcopal Church, 5010 N. Main St., Baytown, at 1:00 pm, Wednesday January the 2nd, and will be followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm. Burial will be at Cedar Crest Cemetery in Baytown.
