Donald Joe "Don" Cole
December 9, 1946 - June 11, 2019
Donald Joe Cole, 72, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019 in Houston. A memorial service is planned for eleven o’clock in the morning on Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel.
Born December 9, 1946 in Cleveland, Texas to parents Fay and Autry Cole, Don will be forever remembered as a man who dearly loved his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fay and Autry. Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 26 years, Nancy, three sisters: Imogene Bittick, Joyce White and Mary Lou Lesseraux, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Don served proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Staff Sergeant in the 101st Airborne Division. He loved his Aggies and was known for his barbeque ribs. Also near and dear to him was golf playing many rounds at Hearthstone Country Club in Houston. He loved gardening and fed many with his tomatoes. Don worked many years as Sales Manager for Hollywood Marine, an inland marine barge company.
The family asks everyone attending the service to come in casual or golf wear to honor Don.
Donald Joe Cole will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew him.
