Dr. Patrick D. Jarrett
July 02, 1952 - June 06, 2019

Dr. Patrick D. Jarrett, 66, of Weatherford, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 6, 2019.

Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at North Side Baptist Church, 910 N. Main St., Weatherford.

Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.

He was born on July 2, 1952 to James and Peggy Jarrett and attended Sharyland High School, and was a 1975 graduate of Texas A & M School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Jarrett was also a member of the Texas A & M Corps of Cadets for his college career. He served in the United States Army as a Captain following college, where he served in the Army Veterinary Corps at the Military Ocean Terminal on New York Harbor and at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio.

Dr. Jarrett spent several years associated with the Humane Society of North Texas, and he spayed and neutered over 6,000 animals at their low cost spay/neuter program in Fort Worth. In 1983, he was honored with the Humanitarian of the Year award in recognition of his tireless work with the spay/neuter program, cruelty investigations, and for providing veterinary care for all the animals adopted by the Humane Society. He then established his veterinary practice in Weatherford. Dr. Jarrett owned Parker County VET Hospital and served the Weatherford community for over 30 years, providing unprecedented care in veterinary medicine. He had a great love for veterinary medicine and loved to teach others about animals, particularly English Bulldogs and Pot Bellied Pigs. He, his wife, Lacey, and daughter-in-law, Jinnelle, shared this love for veterinary medicine and worked side by side in serving the clients/animals of the community.

He also had a passion for building and doing multiple projects, which has been passed down to his son, Clint, while his passion for veterinary medicine has been passed down to his daughter, Kimberly. He enjoyed being outdoors, which evolved from being an Eagle Scout as a young child, and became a Scout Leader as an adult. Dr. Jarrett’s favorite pastimes included playing the guitar, singing, cooking s’mores with family around the campfire, and spending time with his close friends and family.

Pat was preceded in death by his father and mother, James and Peggy Jarrett; and brother, Tommy Jarrett.

Pat is survived by his wife, Lacey Jarrett; children, Dr. Kimberly Jarrett and Clint Jarrett; daughter-in-law, Jinnelle Jarrett; step-daughters, Madison Thibodeau and Audrey Thibodeau; granddaughter, Jordan Johnson; siblings, James Jarrett, Dr. Tad Jarrett, and Jodi Jarrett.
