David V. Wilson II
January 09, 1968 - June 03, 2019
Funeral services for David V. Wilson II, of Houston will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Lufkin First United Methodist Church with Reverend Jim McPhail and Reverend Dr. Jerome Brimmage officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Wilson was born January 9, 1968 in Houston, Texas to Emma Lee (Binion) and the late Judge David V. Wilson, and died Monday, June 3, 2019 in Houston.
Mr. Wilson graduated from Texas A&M University and South Texas College of Law. He was currently employed with Mehaffy Weber, and previously with Hayes McConn law firm in Houston. He loved being an attorney and coached the South Texas Law School to a National Moot Court Championship. He served on numerous committees, boards, and associations, including the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and Texas Bar Association. He was also on numerous committees with charitable organizations involving disadvantaged children and adults. He was on the Board of Trustees for the Methodist Church. He received numerous awards for his volunteer work.
Mr. Wilson was considered by everyone who knew him a Bible scholar since childhood. He was a member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church and was a Gold Star Sunday School teacher. He was an avid Aggie fan and loved TAMU. He was a family man, putting his family first and never missing a chance to spend time with them. He loved his large and extended family and he loved people, loving his family most of all. He was the pillar of his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Susan Wilson of Houston; daughters, Kathrine Wilson and Sarah Wilson, both of Houston; son, David V. “Buck” Wilson III of Houston; mother, Emma Lee Wilson of Lufkin; siblings, Sarah Vier and husband Chad of Lufkin, Daniel Wilson of Conroe, Elizabeth Walker and husband Michael of Magnolia, Lori Jordan of Kirbyville, and LeeAnn Hammond of Alaska; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Judge David V. Wilson; brother, Benjamin Andrew Wilson; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clayte Binion, Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Keith.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Wilson, Chad Vier, Michael Walker, Hadden Binion, Wilson Vier, John Cahill, Mike Descioli, and Ruston Hughes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roland Mitchell, Dr. Daniel Salas, and Don Patterson.
