Arthur W. Catanach, born February 11, 1929, in Germantown, Pennsylvania to Arthur E. and Margaret Catanach, went to be with the Lord, May 6, 2019, at the age of 90.

He moved to Port Arthur, Texas at the age of nine with his family when his father became a chemist at Gulf Oil refinery. Arthur graduated from Texas A&M University in 1950 with a degree in Chemical Engineering and was employed by Neches Butane Products Company for over 35 years until his retirement. During his career at Neches Butane, he became a professional engineer and manager of chemical and environmental laboratories.

Following his retirement, Arthur moved to Nacogdoches, Texas where he enjoyed attending sports events at Stephen F. Austin University and seeing plays at the local theaters. For many years, Arthur volunteered at the local hospital assisting in the emergency room. He took many road trips, traveling extensively throughout the United States. He loved spending time with family and friends, playing dominoes and card games, as well as gardening in his flower beds. Arthur was a man of faith and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Arthur is preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Catanach, who passed away in 1992. He is survived by his second wife of 26 years, Ila Catanach; two children, Jimmy Catanach and Judy Hansmeier; four grandchildren, Holly Catanach, Kyle Hansmeire, Catherine Catanach, and Rachel Hansmeier; and one great-grand-child Robert Hansmeier.
