Richard Lee Yeakley

Richard Lee “Dick” Yeakley, born March 11, 1930 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School, received his Bachelors degree in Chemistry from Midwestern University and received his Masters degree in Chemistry from Texas A&M University.
Upon graduation, Dick married Movolene Johnson and was hired by Dow Chemical in Freeport, TX. After the birth of his two sons, Greg and Ed, he accepted a job at Texas Instruments in Dallas in 1961. At TI, he worked in the silicon research and development labs
where he received several patents. He retired from Texas Instruments in the early 1990’s to pursue a life of fishing, traveling to Colorado, golf, and more fishing. He was a long-time member of Wilshire Baptist Church where he taught children’s Sunday School
for many years, and worked the sound board for church services, weddings, and funerals.
When you see him in Heaven, don’t forget to ask him how he is doing. He’ll always give you the same answer – “terrible!” (This is a good thing).
He is preceded in death by his wife Movolene Yeakley and grandson Alex Yeakley. He is survived by his sons Gregory and Edward Yeakley, daughters-in-law Lesli Yates and Melanie Yeakley, and grandson Christopher Yeakley.
Visitation will be held on April 10, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on April 11, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Wilshire Baptist Church.
