MAY 14, 1959 ~ MARCH 19, 2019 (AGE 59)

Julia (Julie) Spinn passed away Tuesday March 19, 2019 in Houston, TX after a long struggle with cancer. Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday March, 23 2019 at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home.

Julie was born on May 14, 1959, to Dr. Richard Charles Spinn, Jr. and Harriet Jean Berglund Spinn in Tyler, Texas. She graduated from Richfield High School, Waco, TX in 1977. Julie earned a B.S in Zoology from Texas A&M University in 1981. She went on to study Nuclear Medicine Technology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.

Julie remained in the Houston area where she met and married Richard Paul Petocz in 2003. She and Rich enjoyed traveling within the State of Texas in particular Palo Duro Canyon in Northwest Texas.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband; her brother Rick Spinn and wife, Hazel, of Waco; her sister Jeanne Kendrick and husband, Chesley Kendrick , of Houston; nieces/nephews – Mandy Smith, Melissa Spinn, Claire Kendrick and Coleman Kendrick.


Julie was a voracious reader, loved the theater and the Houston Astros. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
