Paul Michael Ramirez
MARCH 5, 1964 – MAY 5, 2019

Paul Michael “Bear” Ramirez, 55, passed away into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 5 at his home in Bryan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11 at St. Joseph Catholic Church on East 26th Street in Bryan. Interment will follow at the Mount Calvary Cemetery, in Bryan. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. at the church.

Paul was born March 5, 1964 in Bryan to Paul and Teresa (Cantu) Ramirez. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1987 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. During his time at Texas A&M, Paul was involved in various student activities on campus. He was a Fish Camp Counselor, a student Campus Guide, a student worker at the Media Center in Harrington, and was a committee member for Ring Dance. After graduation, he moved to Washington D.C. and worked for several years as a Lobbyist. He returned to Bryan and was a Probation Officer for Brazos County Juvenile Detention Center, and then became Director of Human Resources for Sanderson Farms. After Sanderson Farms, he moved to Houston for several years and worked in Finance. He returned back home to Bryan for good in 2002. Paul enjoyed word search puzzles, reading, playing solitaire on the computer, watching NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys, and of course his Aggies. He was an avid sports fan, who could recall all sorts of sports history at the drop of a hat. He loved sharing stories about his time at A&M, especially how inexpensive his ring, tuition and beer were back then. Most of all though, he loved spending time with his family. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was the most genuine, kind and loving person, and never met a stranger. His smile lit up the room, and he taught us all how to see the best in ourselves, and in others. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

Paul is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paul and Aurora Ramirez; and his maternal grandparents, Carlos and Isidra Cantu.

He is survived by his parents, Paul and Teresa Ramirez; brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Adrienne Ramirez; sister, Lisa Marie Carter; nephews, Cameron Paul Ramirez and wife Hannah, Jacob Ross Carter, Lucas Carlos Ramirez and Judah Paul Carter; niece, Penelope Grace Ramirez; great-nieces, Delilah Grace Carter, Tatum Elizabeth Ramirez and Teagan Aurora Ramirez; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
