Phillip Michael "Mike" Waldrup
AUGUST 29, 1947 – MARCH 9, 2019

Phillip Michael “Mike” Waldrup passed away on March 9, 2019 in Sugar Land at the age of 71. Mike was born in Jacksonville, TX on August 29, 1947. He is preceded in death by his parents Marshall L.Waldrup and Yvonne Johnson Waldrup. He is survived by his wife Kathleen Bailes Waldrup, son Christopher Alan Waldrup, daughter Alicia Rose Waldrup Zellner and her husband Raymond Owen Zellner and three grandchildren, and sister Karen Waldrup Roper.

In 1971, Mike graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station and served the next three years in the United States Army. He married Kathleen Alice Bailes in 1978. He worked as a law enforcement officer for three years with the San Marcos Police Department and over 23 years with the Texas Department of Public Safety where he worked Highway Patrol, Narcotics, and Criminal Intelligence. Mike loved researching equine bloodlines, breeding, raising, and showing American Quarter Horses.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 6, 2019 @ The Rose Hill Baptist Church family life center located at 1420 CR 2460 in Mineola, Texas. Glen Mize will officiate services. Tributes and/or words of condolence can be left at www.settegastkopf.com.
