Dr. Lisle Wayne II of Gallatin, TN passed away Sunday March 3rd at the age of 83. He practiced at Evansville Plastic Surgical Associates for 34 years and was an active member of his community there for four decades with his beloved wife Sheila Adkins Wayne. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, and as a compassionate physician.

Dr. Wayne was born in New York, NY on February 9, 1936 to the late Teresa Garcia Wayne and Ernest Lisle Wayne, and graduated from Patti Welder High School in Victoria, TX. He received a B.S. in 1957 from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, and remained a loyal Aggie sports fan throughout his life.

Dr. Wayne’s illustrious medical career began at the University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis, TN, followed by an internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL and a General Surgery residency in Memphis, TN. Dr. Wayne was commissioned as a Major in the Air Force during the Vietnam War Era, where he was Chief of Surgery at Randolph Field Air Force base in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Wayne completed his plastic surgery residency at Duke University, and practiced at the Trover Clinic in Madisonville, KY for two years prior to his career in Evansville, IN.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Sheila Ann Adkins Wayne, sons Lisle Wayne III (Kristina) of Geneva, IL, Todd Adkins Wayne (Kendel) of Charlottesville, VA and Kyle Justin Wayne (Haley) of San Francisco, CA, Brother James Anthony Wayne (Tina) of Victoria, TX and grandchildren Christina Trentini Aubrey, Luciano Trentini, Giovanna Trentini, Alberto Trentini, Elisha Adkins Wayne, Eden Ann Wayne, Levi Storm Wayne, Erika Anelle Wayne, Thomas Weatherford Wayne, and a great granddaughter Ellyanna Aubrey. Dr. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Teresa Terrell Trentini.

Dr. Wayne was an avid stamp collector and enjoyed scuba diving. Professionally, he was a member of the Indiana State Medical Association, life member of the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgery, and American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Alexander Funeral Home in Gallatin, TN. On March 9, 2019 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment will be held at a later date in College Station, TX at the Aggie Field of Honor.
