On June 9,2018, John J. Brink III, left our world to be in his forever home. Johnny was taken from us at age 74 after suffering from breathing difficulties and heart arrest. He had recently retired from Johnny Brink's Floor Store, a floor covering business
that his father had opened in the late 1950's. He was blessed with so many wonderful employees and enjoyed longtime success.
His early years were consumed with his love for football, playing at both Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio, and then, at Texas A&M University. He also spent many summers at the family lake house at LBJ with his parents, the late John J. Brink, Jr.
and the late Viola Steitle Brink; his two sisters, Patti Brink Key and Karan Brink Knight.
In 1981, Johnny and Jyl Moffatt Brink were married and brought with them to their marriage five (5) children: Alyson Brink, Amber Schlameus, the late "J. J." Brink, Tiffani Schlameus and Brittani Schlameus. With the combined family, many trips and good times
were had.
Johnny (known as Butch) to many people, was passionate about observing and hunting deer in South Texas with great friends. He also enjoyed boy's poker night, bowling leagues, and loved NASCAR racing, in person or on TV....and Dale Earnhardt was his hero. His
four grandchildren: Kirkland Myers, Michael Colton Myers, Kennedy Cunningham and Max Cooper Cunningham brought him enormous love, laughter and learning experiences.
This Christian man was loved, admired and respected by so many. A private family celebration was held at the Brink family home on June 13, 2018, and Johnny's ashes will be scattered at LBJ lake and Lake City, Minnesota, where he loved to vacation and spend
time loving life.
