James "Jim" Teddlie, Jr., 95, died peacefully at his home in San Antonio on December 4, 2018. Born in Orange, Texas, he was the son of the late James Ernest and Hallie Gott Teddlie. He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Mattie DeWoody Teddlie.

As a Class of 1944 student at Texas A&M College, he graduated with a Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering degree in 1946, and with a Bachelor of Petroleum Engineering degree in 1950. In 1943, he entered the Army Air Corps pilot training program, and served as a pilot until he was honorably discharged in December, 1945. During that time, he piloted aircraft across the Atlantic Ocean for use in the war, and flew transport missions in Bahrain, Russia, Turkey, Iran, Italy, Saudi Arabia, India, Egypt, and other areas of North Africa.

He was a petroleum engineer and corporate officer for various oil companies, and in the last 20 years of his career, he managed exploration operations while based in Guatemala, Scotland and England. He retired from Monsanto Oil Company as International Vice President in 1987.

He spent his retirement years in Lakeway, Texas, where he led a travel group, served on the Board of the Lakeway Historical Society, and was President of the Lakeway Civic Corporation Board. He and Mattie later lived at Longhorn Village in Austin and then in San Antonio.

Surviving are children Don Teddlie (Texas A&M Class of 1967), Linda Minton, Suzanne Lane, and Craig Teddlie and grandchildren Lynn Teddlie and Colter Lane.

During his life, he maintained and carried an innate sense of positivity, in happy times and in times of adversity. He never wavered in this, his perspective in life. He will be missed, may he Rest in Peace.
