Edward (Ned) Loughborough Jr. passed away February 16, 2019, with his family by his side. Ned was born December 19, 1951, in Dallas, TX to Ned and Wanda Loughborough. After graduating high school he attended Texas A & M University earning a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and then attended East Texas State where he also earned a Masters degree in Criminology.

Ned chose to serve his country by joining the US Air Force and that is where he met Karen, the love of his life and wife of 38 years. Ned served 26 years in the USAF and retired a Lt. Colonel. After settling in San Antonio he continued to serve his country in civil service for another 8 years.

Ned is preceded in death by his brothers Andy and Bob Loughborough; parents Ned and Wanda. He is survived by his loving wife Karen; daughters Shannon Saiz husband Manny of Murfreesboro, TN, Carrie Carter husband Joe of San Angelo, TX; granddaughter Rachel Carter of San Angelo; sister Kate Loughborough of Lewisville, TX; brother Hank Loughborough wife Dorrie of Flower Mound; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Friday, March 1, 2019, at 11:30 am (Shelter #3, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd. San Antonio, TX 78209).

In lieu of flowers please make donations to your charity of choice. The family would like to thank the staff at Brooke Army Medical Center ICU for the excellent care they provided Ned in his final weeks and a special thanks to Michael Glunk for his help. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Funeral Caring USA Funeral Home in San Antonio.

Edward Turner Loughborough, Jr. passed away after a short illness on February 16, 2019, with his family by his side. Ned was born on December 19, 1951, in Dallas, TX to E.T. Sr. and Wanda Loughborough. After graduating high school, he attended Texas A & M University earning a Bachelor's degree in Sociology. He then attended East Texas State University where he earned a Masters degree in Criminology.
Ned chose to serve his country by joining the US Air Force and that is where he met Karen, the love of his life and wife of 38 years. Ned served 28 years in the USAF and retired a Lt. Colonel. After settling in San Antonio, he continued to serve and protect his country both as a civilian contractor and in civil service for another 13 years.
Ned is preceded in death by his parents, Ned & Wanda Loughborough and his brothers, Andy and Bob Loughborough. He is survived by his loving wife Karen; daughters Shannon Saiz & husband Manny of Murfreesboro, TN; Carrie Carter & husband Joe of San Angelo, TX; granddaughter Rachel Carter of San Angelo; sister Kate Loughborough of Lewisville, TX; brother Hank Loughborough & wife Dorrie of Flower Mound, TX; Aunts Alice Roessler of Houston, TX. & Beverly McIver of Frisco, TX., as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
