Noel Thomas Chaplin
June 17, 1935 - December 2, 2018

Noel Thomas Chaplin passed away in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 2, 2018. He was born on June 17, 1935 to Orby and Houstine Chaplin in Howe, Oklahoma where he lived until 1943, when his family moved to Highlands, Texas. After graduating from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas, he furthered his education at Texas A&M University. In 1955, Noel married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Cecile Treat. He graduated with a degree in chemical engineering, Class of 1957. For all of Noel's working life, he was employed by Reynolds Metals Company, which took his family from Corpus Christi, Texas to Little Rock, Arkansas, Jamaica, Australia and Richmond, Virginia, where he retired in 1993. In that same year, his wife of thirty-eight years passed away. To their marriage were born Lisa Anne Chaplin and Paul Thomas Chaplin. For the last twenty-four years of his life, Noel was married to Patsy (Dillman) Chaplin of Little Rock. As a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Noel served as Deacon Chairman and in various other positions of leadership. In addition to his church involvement, he enjoyed his life long woodworking hobby. He spent many happy hours in his workshops making beautiful handcrafted wooden items and tinkering with his clocks.

Noel is survived by his wife, Patsy Chaplin; one brother, James H. Chaplin and wife, Sandy; two sisters, Linda Gore (whose deceased husband, David, was Noel's best friend from Texas A&M) and Virginia Christian and husband, David; his children, Lisa Chaplin and Paul T. Chaplin and wife, Shana; stepsons, Mark Dillman and wife, Lisa and Gene Dillman and wife, Kristy. Together Noel and Patsy have nine grandchildren, Jeremy Supinski, Emery Chaplin, Lindsey Chaplin, Luke Dillman and wife, Dian, Austin Dillman, Leah Dillman, Chris Dillman and wife, Katie, Dak Wampler, Morgan Richard and husband, Zane; six great-grandchildren, Jacelyn, Carter, Layla, Lincoln, Aspen and Avery and many nieces and nephews.

Noel was loved and respected by his family and friends. His fun-loving personality and warm caring nature will be missed by all who were blessed by having known him.
