Frederic Abdon Contreras, 68, of Bowling Green passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Greenview Hospital.

The Houston, TX native was a son of the late Ciprian Piña Contreras, Sr. and Beatrice Barrera Contreras and was also preceded in death by his daughter, Jocelyn Fay Contreras.

Mr. Contreras was retired from Human Resources with Whirlpool Company and was currently working as a Human Resources Executive with Spectrum Cable. He was a graduate of Texas A&M University, was a faithful Christian and honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Survivors include his wife, Sherrie Miller Contreras; six sons, Cruz Contreras, Ciprian Contreras (Jackie), Billy Contreras (Amanda), Chris Foley (JoAnna), Jason Foley (Karen) and Nathan Fielder; two daughters, Candy Pearson (Wade) and Elisabeth Hix (Shayne); three brothers, Ciprian Contreras, Jr. (Pam), Gregory Contreras (Brenda) and Norbert Contreras (Carolyn); three sisters, Bernadette Contreras, Mariette Williams (Jim) and Angelica Sutton (Mike); fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, January 2, 2019 and again from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
