Charles Evans Ferguson Jr.
DECEMBER 2, 1969 – JANUARY 11, 2019

harles Evans Ferguson, Jr. of Houston, TX, met Jesus face to face on January 2, 2019. Chuck was born in Houston on December 2, 1969, the second child of Charles Ferguson Sr. and Virginia Livergood. After moving around frequently as a child, Chuck graduated from MacArthur High School in San Antonio. Upon entering Texas A&M University, Chuck joined the Corps of Cadets, D-2 Company, and became Chaplain of the outfit and eventually Brigade Chaplain, graduating in ’92 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. Chuck was accepted into the Texas A&M Medical School and graduated in ’96, then completed his Family Practice Residency in ’99 in Tyler, TX. In order to spend more time with his young family, Chuck decided to switch to Emergency medicine and has worked in that field for the past 20 years. In 2006, Chuck and his wife, Jodi, founded Camp Blessing Texas, a Christian summer Camp for those with special needs and abilities.

When asked by his father-in-law what was his favorite part of medical school, Chuck said, “Marrying Jodi and having Matthew” and his favorite part of residency, “Mary Beth, for sure” and his favorite part about finishing his medical training and getting his first job, he said, “that would definitely be Anna.” More than anything, Chuck loved the Lord and considered being a husband and Dad the best thing ever, easily superseding any accomplishment or other ministry activity. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, going to the beach, music, fitness, hanging out with people with special and unique abilities, serving on various medical mission trips and tabasco. The Fergusons are members of Cypress Bible Church.

Chuck was preceded in death by his grandparents, and his step-father, Harold “Bud” Livergood. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Jodi, and their children, Matthew Hunter Ferguson, Mary Beth Ferguson and Anna Lea Ferguson; his mother Virginia Livergood of Normangee, TX; father Charles Ferguson Sr. and his wife Norma Jean of Marshall, MO.; sister Amanda Chapman and her husband Greg of Houston, TX; sister Jenna Springfield and her husband Eugene of Normangee, TX.; mother-in-law Judy Schmid of Houston, TX; sister-in-law Jill Schmid of Houston, TX.; sister-in-law Jenda Ballard and her husband Wayne of Chino Valley, AZ, and several nieces and nephews.
