Gregory John Schreiber
March 28, 1992 - December 30, 2018

Gregory John Schreiber, 26, passed away on December 30th, 2018 while free diving in Panama. Gregory was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. From a young age, he fell in love with the ocean. He sailed his entire life and had a deep appreciation for the sea. Gregory graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School in 2010 and went on to attend USF St. Petersburg, where he studied environmental science. Gregory graduated from Texas A & M Galveston with a bachelor of science in Marine Transportation and a minor in Marine Administration, in 2015. He was a merchant mariner, earning the Third Mate Unlimited Oceans credential. He worked for SEA CORP as acting second mate aboard the tugboat, Sea Power.

In his short life, Gregory sailed around the world, visiting more than five different countries, countless islands, and states on every coast. Gregory would spend forty-five days working on the ocean, and get right back on the water as soon as he was home. He cared for his surrounding environment, loved to free dive and sail, and would catch and cook fish for everyone he loved. He loved his family and friends greatly, and never passed on a chance to spend time with them. Gregory is survived by his parents John and Victoria, his younger siblings Alice and Michael, his nana Patricia Moss, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Anna Schreiber.

A wake will be held on Thursday, January 10th, 2019 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Richardson Manor House. 1937 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors, FL 33305. The funeral will be held the following morning, Friday, January 11th at 10:00 AM at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. 2000 Marietta Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316. Immediately following the funeral, Gregory will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery, 1300 SE 10th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.
