Curtis Garlon Rea, Jr. was born August 22, 1939 to Curtis and Mae Rea of Oenaville, Texas. He passed away peacefully on November 2, 2018. Garlon spent his young years helping with the family farm, reading and being a boy. He attended elementary school in Oenaville and went on to graduate from Temple High School in Temple, Texas. He earned a bachelors degree in Education/History at Texas A & M University. Garlon was very proud of his Aggie heritage. He worked for the City of Houston, Water Department in Houston for some 30 years. After retirement he and his wife, Helen, moved to Prescott Arizona. They loved having their children, grandchildren and friends come to visit. The also enjoyed traveling across the United States as well as various countries. Garlon had a love for photography, golf and reading. In 2014 Garlon and Helen moved to Brenham, Texas to be closer to their children. Garlon spent the last several years caring for his wife, Helen, whom he loved very much until she passed away in September of 2017. Garlon is survived by his two daughters, Carrie Rea Harrison of Spring, Texas and husband Allen Harrison and Kelley Sikes of Schulenburg, Texas and husband Troy Sikes, grandchildren: Jamie Roucloux and husband Cameron Roucloux, Jillian Sikes, Kaylyn Leland and husband Austin Leland and Ryan Harrison.

A graveside service was held at the Bellwood Memorial Cemetery on Friday, November 23, 2018.
