Bill Ledbetter

William Burl Ledbetter, 84, husband of Bonnie S. Ledbetter, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018.

Born in El Paso, Texas, he was the son of the late John Jackson Lebetter, Jr. and Leonora Lackey Ledbetter Smith. Dr. Ledbetter served in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and was a graduate of Texas A&M and received his PhD from the University of Texas. He taught Civil Engineering at Texas A&M and later at Clemson University. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed traveling and camping. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Anderson.

In addition to his wife, Bonnie, survivors include his children, William B. “Bill” Ledbetter, Jr. (Donna), Craig Ledbetter (Nita), Kathleen Ledbetter Ehrlich (Jerry), Paul Ledbetter (Tracy), Marcus Stadelman (Lisa), Lowell Stadelman, Mary West (Kanyon), and Kris McMillan; 24 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Ledbetter.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, December 7, in the Chapel of Central Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
