Conant Meigs King Jr.
Conant Meigs King, Jr. of Kingsville, Texas passed away November 16, 2004 at the age of 86.Born April 1, 1918 in Fort Worth, Texas to Mr. & Mrs. Conant Meigs King Sr. He graduated from Texas A & M College Station in 1939. In 1945 he came to work at Celanese as a chemical engineer until retirement in 1982. He was an active member of the Central Baptist Church in Kingsville for 30 plus years and also a member of First Baptist Church of Kingsville in later years. He was a patient, loving husband, father and grandfather. He did without so he could help his family and many others.Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Louise King of Kingsville, Texas; one son, Robert King of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Janice Erickson of Gaithersburg, Maryland; one brother, Robert Lee King of Grand Prairie, Texas; two sisters, Mary Cox of Kennewick, Oregon and Alice Greenwood of Odessa, Texas; nine grandchildren, Jacquline Magee, Kim Hudgins, Tischa Davidson, Raegina Hodges, Hunter King, Heston King, Elizabeth Bowers, Michael Erickson, and Angelia Jandrew and 19 great grandchildren.Visitation will be Friday, November 19, 2004 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at the First Baptist Church, Kingsville. Burial will follow in Chamberlain Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baptist University of the Americas, 8019 S. Pan Am Expressway, San Antonio, Texas 78224 or to South Texas School of Christian Studies, 7000 Ocean Dr., Corpus Christi, Texas 78412.
