Clay Ellis Pierce, D.V.M.
August 15, 1950 - November 12, 2018

Dr. Clay Ellis Pierce, D.V.M., 68, died, Monday, November 12, 2018 at 6:20 AM due to sudden and unexpected heart complications. Born August 15, 1950, he was a native of Cut Off and resident of the St. Charles Community.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 9:00 AM until service time at Ordoyne Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.

He is survived by his fiance', Linda N. Gros; daughters, Cherie (Christopher) Pierce Raidl; Jennifer K. Pierce; step sons, H.J. (Raquel) Gros, III, Brandon (Nancy) Gros and Nicholas (Natalie) Gros; grandchildren, Darien Alissa Boudreaux, Berlin Grace Raidl, Alexis Denise Pierce; step grandchildren, Chandler Fontenot, Breanna Gros, Solomon Gros, Zoe' Gros, Paul Gros, Alexander Gros, Alayna Gros, Jacob Gros; great grandson, Greyson Joseph Boudreaux; siblings, Joy P. (Russell) Menard, Ramona Pierce, Royce Pierce, Jr., James Pierce and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Royce Pierce, Sr. and Annabelle Plaisance Pierce; brother, Enest Pierce.

He was a 1968 high school graduate of South Lafourche. He received his undergraduate degree at Nicholls State University and continued his studies at Texas A&M where he received his Veterinarian Degree in 1974. After graduating he returned to Thibodaux and opened his own Veterinarian office, Lafourche Animal Hospital in 1975. A few years later he expanded to a second location, which was his childhood home in Cut Off, LA. He dedicated his life to his veterinary business, taking care of animals and saving countless lives through his many years of practice. His business has now expanded to four veterinarians. He was active in the Nicholls Alumni Association and was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. One of his life passions was producing and supplying the best quality hay in South Louisiana for his many clients to feed their horses. He greatest pride and joy was supporting his family, spending time with his grandchildren, and being the best Paw Paw he could be. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the K.C. Toups DVM College of Agriculture Endowed Scholarship.
