Renee Holly Madsen
September 22, 1969 - November 05, 2018

On November 5, 2018, Renee Holly Madsen, 49, of Bel Air, Maryland, formerly of Boise, Idaho,
loving daughter of Ronald and Dorothy Sacker; beloved wife of Eric Madsen; devoted mother of
Shane, Evelyn, and Jack; dear sister of Stephen Sacker, Louise Seaman and her husband,
Michael, Pamela Kaye and her husband, Thomas; cherished aunt to Savannah and Thomas
Kaye, Jason Seaman, and Sabrina, Ryan, and Trevor Madsen. She is also survived by her
caring parents-in-law, Marcus Madsen and Mary P. Madsen, and her brother-in-law, Michael
Madsen.

Renee was an honors graduate of Parkville High School. She was awarded a BSCE (Civil
Engineering, magna cum laude) from Clemson University and a MSCE from Texas A&M
University. She was a licensed professional engineer, and she was employed as a civil
engineer in Colorado, Arizona, and Idaho.

Renee and Eric settled in Idaho to raise their children. Like her mother before her, Renee was a
stay-at-home mother, and she was the center of her family. She was a natural mother, and she
loved, enjoyed, and respected her children. She had a lifelong love of learning, and she
homeschooled the children up until her illness.

Renee enjoyed yoga, cycling, river rafting, skiing, hiking, camping, and Irish dancing with her
daughter. She also liked to mow the lawn, including into the 9th month of her pregnancies,
much to her husband’s embarrassment. Renee proposed a family adventure in 2017, and the
Madsens sold their house and most of their belongings prior to hitting the road for a year-long
RV trip around the country with their dog, Sammy. Renee will be deeply missed by her family and by all who knew her.

Visitation with family and friends will begin at 10 AM Thursday, November 8 at Oak Crest Chapel- 8820 Walther
Blvd, Parkville; with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Kelly’s Dream, a non-profit foundation that provides assistance to families stricken with cancer, at PO Box 36, Perry Hall, MD 21128.
