FEBRUARY 12, 1932 – NOVEMBER 7, 2018

February 12, 1932 to November 7, 2018 Francisco Xavier Coronado passed away peacefully on November 7, 2018. He was known as Frank, Dad, Abuelo, FX and Paco by his family and friends. His gregarious nature, loving spirit, sense of humor and his ability to connect with anyone were only a few of the characteristics that will be remembered.

He was born and raised in Laredo, Texas by his parents, Jose Hilario and Francesca de Gutierrez Coronado, who instilled love, grace, and integrity into their son. During summers, he spent time at the family ranch in Mexico. Frank attended Texas A & M University and was in the graduating class of 1953. He served his country in the USAF as a Navigator on the B-36 plane during the Korean war.

He met the love of his life, Barbara Entriken, in Dallas, married and had three children and then began a long career as a Stock Broker beginning at Merrill Lynch. Frank served on the Board of Directors for the YMCA and, after retirement from the Board, was given a life-long honorary board position for his service. He served on the Chaplaincy Board at Medical City Dallas Hospital, the Advisory Board for the Children's Education Fund, Trustee of the Dallas Entrepreneur PAC, and Translator for Mission Workers at Park Cities Baptist Church.

Frank's love and devotion to his family always came first in his life.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Entriken Coronado, his children and grandchildren, including his daughter Kate Coronado Johnson, her husband Matt Johnson, and their children, Aaron and Corinne; his son Tom Coronado and his son, Spencer Coronado; his son Chuck Coronado and his wife Veronica Coronado and their children Alex, Abby, Zachary and Cole Coronado. He pre-deceased his two sisters, Lucia Coronado Sybert and Rosa Coronado Wilson.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 16, 2018, from 6-8pm at Sparkman/ Hillcrest. His funeral service will be held Saturday, November 17, at 1pm at Park Cities Baptist Church with a reception to follow at the church. His burial will be private for family at Sparkman/Hillcrest.
