Timothy John Moltz
December 21, 1961 - October 27, 2018

Timothy John Moltz died 10/27/2018 at his home in Pflugerville. He was 56.

Tim was born in Munich, Germany during his father’s military career. His parents are John and Donna Moltz, of Copperas Cove. He was raised in Pennsylvania and later moved to Texas, where he graduated from Copperas Cove HS. He entered Texas A&M University where he was a member of the elite Corp of Cadets Fish Drill team. He graduated in 1985 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a great fan of Texas Aggie football and proudly flies an Aggie flag at home.

While at A&M he met his wife Suzanne (Hopcus) and their love produced three children: Anthony (fiancée – Makayla Morris), Travis (wife -Kate Palladino) and daughter, Monica. He recently was able to see the first of his children get married. Tim & Suzanne celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary earlier this year. Tim also leaves behind a brother, Michael (wife – Barbara, son- Devin), of San Antonio.

As a youth, Tim earned the Eagle Scout award with the Boy Scouts. This led to a life long love of scouting. He was very active in the local scouting community and was very proud to see both sons earn their Eagle Scout and his daughter earn the Gold Award in Girl Scouting. He could reminiscence of the many campouts, cookouts, competitions and personal growth young men experienced during his time in Boy Scouts. He thoroughly enjoyed the logistical side of scouting where he was the district advancement chairman; helping many young men in the district to attain Eagle Scout. He treasured all the friendships he made with the parent volunteers, who continued to be friends.

Tim was always active in volunteering for our Pflugerville community. He spearheaded many community service projects that involved our Boy Scout troop. The now nationally known “Popcorn for Troops” program, was started by our local Boy Scout Troop 4277 and Tim was instrumental in making that program successful. He also spent 8 years as a member of the City of Pflugerville Planning & Zoning Committee, where he was chairman for 6 of those years.

Tim was the driving force behind Catalyst Engineering Group, the only civil engineering firm with an office in Pflugerville. He relished helping business owners see their dreams come true with a new building, subdivision, etc. He loved our city and helping it grow with beautiful, fiscally responsible, environmentally sound growth. His son, Travis will continue to run the business and see that his father’s vision for the company continues.

Honoring Tim as pallbearers are: Tony Moltz, Travis Moltz, Derrick Salazar, Michael Moltz, Robert Gonzales and Eric Horstmann.
