John Watt "Jack" Page Jr.
John W. "Jack" Page, 92, passed away Feb. 26, 2009. He was born Jan. 2, 1917, in Fort Worth, Texas, to General John Watt Page Sr. and Elizabeth White Page.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Lee Page Shaw.
Jack is survived by his wife, Noema Watson Page; their son, Richard Page and wife, Wanda; granddaughters, Amy Hayes and husband. Jason, Kristy Shaw and husband, Guillermo Aguirre, and Candice Page; grandson, Steven Page; and great-grandchildren, Levi and Tyler Page, and Guillermo and Amber Aguirre.
Jack was a retired Major who served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He landed with the 36th Division during the invasion of Salerno, Italy. He received numerous medals during the war including the Bronze Star and the Cross of the Official Knight, Order of the Crown of Italy.
He was a longtime associate superintendent with the Ysleta Independent School District. He was a Shriner with the El Maida Shrine Temple in El Paso and a 32nd degree Freemason. He went on to be elected probate judge of Lincoln County where he was also a member of the Sheriff's Posse.
He is remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed by his family. We will all cherish memories of family times spent together in the mountains of Alto.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 5, at Alternative Choice Memorial Chapel, 804 N. Dustin Ave., in Farmington.
In lieu of flowers, Jack would have preferred donations be made to the New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranches, 6209 Hendrix Road NE, 2nd Floor, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
