Bonnie Glenn Cocanougher
JANUARY 21, 1932 ~ OCTOBER 26, 2018 (AGE 86)

Bonnie Glenn (B.G.) Cocanougher, 86, died October 26, 2018 at home in Dallas after a long illness. Born January 21, 1932 in Decatur, Texas, to parents Glenn Howell and Gertrude Cocanougher.

B.G. married Regina, née Cook, in 1957. He was active in the family ranching and dairy business, oil and gas industry, and owned and operated a Ford automobile dealership for many years, along with Woodcreek apartments in Denison, Texas. He served as president of the local Rotary Club chapter, and was a long time member of First United Methodist church of Decatur, where he also taught Methodist Men’s Sunday School. B.G. was a 1949 graduate of Decatur High School, and a 1956 graduate of Texas A&M College (now Texas A&M University) receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Administration. While at A&M, he was elected president of the Agricultural Economics Club, and served as an advisor to the dean. He was also an amateur pilot and operated a charter air service.

He is survived by his wife, Regina, and their three children, Preston (Barbara) Cocanougher of Decatur, Mark Cocanougher of Dallas, and Catherine Cocanougher of Dallas, along with grandchildren Gabe (Lacy) Cocanougher of Decatur and Angelica Cocanougher also of Decatur, great-grandchildren, Hudson and Grayson Cocanougher, and sisters Dorothy Reid of Decatur, and Sue Murray of Henrietta, plus many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Christina Kay Cocanougher, and brother Allen Howell Cocanougher.


Memorial service: 11 AM Tuesday, October 30 at the First United Methodist Church in Decatur at 11:00 AM, with reception to follow.
