David "Duck" L. Fricke
AUGUST 19, 1945 – SEPTEMBER 8, 2018
David L. Fricke passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018 surrounded by his family at the age of 73. Mr. Fricke was a resident of Barataria, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph J. Fricke and Velma Seybert Fricke and his brother, Stephen
F. Fricke. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jeffrie Schultis Fricke, his aunt, Katherine Fricke, sister-in-law, Jan E. Fricke, and four children: Kimberly L. Fricke (Nick Hahn, Jr.), Tiffany L. Fricke (Ted DeAgano, III), Danielle Fricke Haydel (Michael
Haydel), and Alexander S. Fricke. Mr. Fricke is also survived by his grandchildren, Alexandra Fricke, Stefanie Fricke, Justin Neider, Michael Haydel, Jr., Stephen Haydel, Victoria Haydel Kapesis, Vance DeAgano, and great granddaughter, Hensley Haydel. Affectionately
known as "Duck", Mr. Fricke was a graduate of Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas. He was a veteran of the US Navy and US Merchant Marine Services. His lifelong career was on the seas worldwide and retired as a Master USCG. Mr. Fricke worked the last
30 years in Alaska, Africa, and the Gulf of Mexico with Tidewater and Rigdon Marine. "Duck" was an avid reader, fisherman and lover of all 4 legged creatures especially his beloved Scarlett. "And the sea will grant each man new hope, as sleep brings dreams
of home" - Christopher Columbus. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 3:00 PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral
